The 1970s

Michael Freedman took over at the helm in the 1970s and the firm, then called Freedman Ross, became one of Yorkshire’s leading independent firm of chartered accountants, specialising in advising owner managed businesses.

Right from the start, the firm has been helping owner managers sort out their problems, raise finance, negotiate with shareholders and lenders, and extract wealth. We have always been passionate about helping the region’s entrepreneurs and SMEs grow and achieve their goals.

In 2003, Ford Campbell Freedman was born

The shared passion for entrepreneurship and the in depth corporate financial expertise of Freedman Ross and Ford Campbell led to the birth of Ford Campbell Freedman. Post 2003, the practice continued to expand and deliver exceptional service to the clients of the new business, together with investing in home grown talent.

2003

This investment, together with the services that the firm offers, ensured that staff have an ability to grow and develop to exceptional levels.

2015

The partners who by then were running the practice, Julia Barnard, Lisa Calvert and Dale Coleman, completed a management buyout. Dale and Lisa remain the majority shareholders of the practice today with Julia still working as a senior consultant.
